Cycle 14: My 100-Day Commitment

On December 1, 2022, I joined Cycle 14 of 100 Strong and Sexy, a health, wellness, and lifestyle organization led by Jully Black.

100 Strong and Sexy “… serve the global community in health and wellness, focusing on women’s wellness by using [their] abilities, resources and influence to build bridges, big enough for everyone to cross.” Their mission is “[t]o help others find and commit to their health and wellness journey and make deeper cultural connections in mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.”

Their motto: Unity is our strength. CommUNITY is our currency.

I learned about this program by attending the Women’s Centre of York Region’s 45th Anniversary in October 2022. Through the inspirational words of Jully Black, presenter at the event, I attended the 100 Strong and Sexy’s W.O.W. Weekend of Wellness – Step Up and Give Back event on November 6, 2022. Step Up referred to their retro step aerobics program, Power of Step Give Back referred to fundraising for someone fighting breast cancer. I was greatly impressed by the step aerobics competition and enjoyed participating in the Xtreme Hip Hop Step Class with Xtreme Hip Hop Master Trainer Dontaye Garrett. Though I am new to Hip Hop stepping, I am not new to working out with a step. Xtreme Hip Hop stepping, though, is exactly that “extreme”. Wow, what a great workout and such camaraderie. Unity is their strength, and commUNITY is their currency. That is why I joined on December 1st, 2022, for their 14th cycle and their 100-day commitment to health and wellness.
